We realize sometimes situations arise and you can’t keep your furry family member. Whether it be relocation or illness, we want to help you find the best home possible.
When you participate in our Assisted Re-homing Program, we advertise your dog on websites like Adopt-A-Pet. Any interest in your dog will go through our same adoption application process. You’ll receive the applications from us and with our guidance, you get to choose your pet’s new home.
As an alternative option (our preferred option), we’ll also recommend training resources in an effort to help keep your best friend with you.
How It Works
STEP ONE: Application Complete the SNARL Owner Surrender Application. Once received, a SNARL Director will review and reach out within 10 business days.
STEP TWO: Document Submission Submit proof that your pet is vaccinated and spay/neutered. We also require 3-5 clear, high quality photos of your pet for networking purposes. If the photos you submit are not good, the re-homing process will be delayed until we receive quality photos. We will also ask you to send us a 4-5 sentence bio on your pet.
STEP THREE: Events If approved, you and your pet can attend SNARL pet adoption events. Event details will be provided.
STEP FOUR: Applications Any approved adoption applications received will be sent to you for review. If you like them, you are free to contact them and arrange a meet.
STEP FIVE: Finalize Adoption Now that you've found the perfect home, let's get your pet adopted! We'll take care of the necessary adoption contract and finalize the details so your pet can move in with their new family.
We also offer a full owner surrender program for those who are unable to keep their pet while we search for their new home.
The application process is the same, however your pet may only be accepted into our surrender program if we have a foster home available for them.
